The average starting salary for graduates in 2022 was the highest in 10 years; 6.1% of fresh graduates were paid a monthly salary of over 10,000 yuan ($1,437); but more graduates are willing to sacrifice their salary for a better work-life balance. According to China’s Ministry of Education, around 11.6 million students will graduate this year — a record high.
